Default JPP 1-25 Crappie

Well i fished for a few hours today for crappie. I caught mine in 16-23 foot of water. The surface temp was around 40. I caught 12 keepers and threw back about the same, I lost 3 nice ones on Crappie magnets. I caught a small/nice striper for me as my last fish. I watched it hit on the sonar which was pretty sweet. I actually had TWRA stop by and say hi today. We chatted for about 20 minutes, I talked to him about the tilapia at the steam plant and he said if you do not want to keep them throw them on the bank or kill them. I am going out tomorrow after church for a few hours to try and find a few more crappie.

Sounds like a good day, especially for a winter day.

thank you sir, It was not a bad day. The wind sucked again. I would catch a fish and then get blown off my spot as I was measuring and putting it in the live well. Even with the waypoints on my map it was tough to stay over fish. Tomorrow looks to be just as windy.

Good job Juice. Playing with that sonar must be as much pleasure as catching fish.

Oh yeah, it's fun just watching what is going on below the surface. It does irritate you even more when you see fish but can't get them to bite.

Minnows worked best. I have still not caught a crappie on a C mag. I did lose one on it yesterDay. I was drifting minnows over brush in 16-20 of water

Man, color is the only way to go. It's just amazing the difference it makes. Cabelas has the HDS5 on sale for 439 I think.
