Default Guntersville May 5th

Went down and fished with friend James Martin at Goose Pond on Lake Guntersville. In all caught 17 LM most small with 4 in the 2.0 - 2.5 lb range but the last fish of the day was a 5.7 lb female that had finished her spawn and was hunting food in the blue gill beds 2-4 ft of water.

Most fish came in texas rigged rubber creature baits and green lizards 1/4 to 3/8 weights. Bright sunny day, 82 degrees, no wind, water in the 65-72 degree range. All fish came out of 2-6 feet of water grass bottoms.

That's a good one, I'd like to get down to Guntersville more this summer.

I think I am going to try and get the yak down there for some frog fishing, leave the bass boat at home. I'm leaving tomorrow morning for Chickamauga.

You guys ever try a snake when frog fishing.

They can be great and bass won't think twice about sucking them down.
