Default Williamsport Blue Cat 4/07/2015

Spent the afternoon out at Blue Cat today after a busted trip to Pickwick...although I did get a nice rock bass at Pickwick. The crappie and Gills are still all along the dam. The golden shiners are scattered over the surface of the lake and the hybrids are feeding on them. The hybrids are not schooling but plenty of feeding activity. Tested out a JDM rod to see how it would do for twitching for crappie...it worked great, albeit the crappie are small. Caught over 75 fish this afternoon.

Regards

That is a pretty rock bass. Those are a blast to catch. Also, the water is a nice color there at Pickwick.

You ever happen into any of those hybrids with your UL at Willamsport?

Thanks Travis...yep have caught two hybrids out there on 2# test. Got both of them in...I think one was 18 inches and the other 21 inches. Was quite a battle...LOL.

Alpha,

Was the Pickwick Trip a bust because the fish weren't there? I tried below the Lock Saturday morning and evening for the crappie with no luck. Lots of other people trying them too and nobody was catching.

I think if I get a chance this weekend to go back to my Hybrid spot on JPP I'm going to bring the ultralite and see if I can get one to hit a pearl crappie magnet. I'm guessing the ones I was catching last Sunday were in the 5-6 pound range, they were fat. That would be a heck of a fight on 2# test!

Not there. I have 3 friends who keep their RV's down by the Botel. They tell me it has been bad for a few days now. It will change.
