Merv, I checked my favorite beds on OH last Thurs, no fish on them yet. Water temps were 69-70 on the beds, but that probably changed this weekend after our monsoon of COLD rain.

JPP is not known for shell crackers. Although I have caught a few. Not enough snails.
Caught a few at Center Hill yesterday full of eggs. I believe they will be on bed very soon.

Default Nickajack tomorrow for Gills

Hitting Nickajack tomorrow in search of the gills. Hopefully they will be there! I would appreciate any tips (just general areas-not your honey holes). Thanks and will let you know and post photos if I get them.

Default Thanks for the tip

We didn't find the gills or shellcrackers Monday but did find a few nice bass. We put in at Marion County Ramp and noticed several folks fishing just off the ramp. Fished it on the way out and caught a few stripe. I love fishing Nickajack, although it is a long drive from M'boro. Off to Tim's Ford for a Friday, Saturday, Sunday Men's retreat from Church and hope to find a few Wallies!

Went out Saturday to look for gills/crackers on OH. It Took a couple hours of searching, but finally found the mess we was looking for. We only caught a handful of crackers in one spot, but later we hit the jackpot on big gills. One spot/bed produced a couple hundred gills. I'd guess we kept 60-70 of the biggest ones 7-9 inchers... Going to hit them again on Friday to try and put a mess in the freezer while the gettings good....
