Default Club Fishing

I just joined a local club and picked up a partner that will fish out of my boat. Being new to the club thing my questions are when we fish out of my boat should my partner be expected to pickup 1/2 the truck and boat gas plus his entry fee. Seems only fair that we split the cost of fishing when we are using my boat.

If it were me I would expect them to pay their entry fees. I would not expect money for fuel for the truck or boat and would not ask. I figure that I'm planning on fishing anyways so if they give you 20 bucks that's a bonus. I have never asked anyone for money if they tag along and usually refuse it if they do.

I agree. He should pay his entry fee. I would not ask for gas money or truck money. If he offered to give some gas money I would accept it, tell him thank you and let him know it is not something I expect.

That is how my tournament partner and I did it for several years fishing from my boat and using my truck to pull it. I was going to be fishing anyway with or without him.

Yeah i wouldnt ask for anything. Fun fishing or club/tourney fishing....im fishing either way. I already have all the stuff for me to go and i would go whether anybody was in the boat or not.
I wont turn down an offer for a hot meal on a cold day though while fishing! lol

FYI. You do need to establish how you are going to split the winnings. 50/50 on all winnings? 50/50 on the everything but big fish (whoever wins the big fish pot keeps it all or splits it)

I fished tournaments for years. Me and my partners tried to split everything down the middle. Gas for truck, boat, entry fee, and winnings all split half. If I was to fish a tournament regardless of a partner, they were to pay their entry fee and we split winnings.

If I'm fishing a local tourney me and my partner spilt the entry and boat gas. I fish a club where we travel a lot. I'm always the co-angler so to speak. When we travel we split everything down the middle ie (gas, food, hotels, entry fees). What club r u guys fishing this year?
