Default Caney in Falls

Saturday fished from 5AM-10:00AM.
Caught 48. Lost at least that many.

No monsters, biggest was 17" brown. Mix was 50/50. No Brooks.

I caught 10 on cranks. Interesting part was that I threw one color and caught 4. Casted and casted in the same area. Nothing. Then I changed color, same size, caught 6 more and lost at least that many. Color does matter.

Funny thing happened: at 9:18AM the sirens sounded. There was no scheduled generation. I pulled anchor and moved to the ramp. Thought sluice??? One generation door was opened and the water rose.... for about 5 minutes, then the doors were closed. Water down. Very odd.

I bet a friend I could catch 1,000 trout from April 1 to December 31. I have 392 to go. At this rate I need 7 more trips. All fingers crossed. Heck or high water (generation) I'm going to give 'em hell. Need a couple of 100 fish days. Not impossible at the FORK.

Good fishing.

Thank God for the Caney because bass fishing on Old Hickory this year has been very disappointing for me.

I went yesterday morning @ the rest stop for a couple hours. Caught 21. Same as you, no biggies. Oddly enough the experience I had was I fished a deep hole where they usually stack up and the bite was really slow. Moved to the ankle deep riffle and caught one almost every cast.
