Default Life Vests

So im in the market for a few new life vests.
i cant decide though on which way to go: Standard Foam or the Neoprene.
I have a few inflatables, but when i run the big motor, i prefer to wear the stationary life vest.
anybody have any input on which style will get me more bang for my buck in the long haul? Foam or Neoprene? any downsides to either one?

if you do much summer fishing, I would go with one with mesh panels. That would eliminate neoprene for me. The neoprene ones I have seen have all been ski vests where you are constantly in the water, so they don't get hot.
