This morning at daybreak - Main river channel at Avondale - 57/58 degrees. Coves on west side of Cages Bend - 59 degrees. At 8:30 AM coves just outside Cedar Creek, up river were 60/61. Cove at Cages Bend Campground, 60/61. Got off the lake at 12, in the back of some crappie areas it was 62.

Does the lake have a good population of big Gills? Thought I might take my kayak up there and try for some big Gills with my son.....just not familiar with the lake to know if it is a good Gill lake.

I would say average size mostly. Not the wow factor but numbers are great. Around docks and rock bluffs is where I've caught mine. Common to catch every cast or so in some areas. You'll catch crappie too. Hope the big ones move in for ya. Not sure how old you're son is but my girls are 11 and 6 and they love it. Trout magnet with a float.
