Default Local boys win Crappie USA Tournament on OH

Harold "Dude" Maddux and Brian Oldham from Mt. Juliet won amateur division in the Crappie USA Tournament held on Old Hickory 4-07-2012 with 11.04 pounds. They were fishing Crappie Magnets. Congrats to them.

Congrats to them...

Is that for 5 fish like a typical bass format?

Does anyone know why it is in the rules of Crappie USA events that no landing net can be used? I have seen a few of those on TV and noticed them lifting them in with the rod but did not know that is the way you had to land them. I may have read that wrong but I don't think so.

They could be just trying to make it like the elites in BASS if that is their highest level. If I am not mistaken all the BASS sub-series can use nets but not the top series Elites.

Just a guess I don't know a whole lot about the Crappie USA.
