Caught a rare fish for Ky Lake today
I had to run the route deliveries today and so I got to fish a little bit at lunch and end of the day at Ky Lake.I caught a nice rare fish for this lake.I am not positive but is this a Chain Pickerel? It really surprised me when I got a look at what I had on! This was a fat lil dude and was almost 3lbs.

Hmmm My guess is a musky. I've seen and heard of them n KY Lake that do not have the bars on the sides.

Well that fish was on my bucket list to catch!!! But so is a muskie and a pike. Really surprised to catch one in Ky Lake,I do not think they are seen often in my area that I know of.

From the looks of it, it’s trying to spawn. That tail has some blood in it. But idk anything about how they do the love dance. Lol

That is a beautiful chain pickerel. The pickerel I have caught don't get that big very often. I have seen the chain pattern more pronounced but it comes from a different water. Good deal.

Lots of them in Kentucky lake. They are cool to catch, I have caught a bunch of them there. You know they are around when you set the hook and come back with a clean cut line.
