Previous weather etc....those factors could dislodge old logs and send them floating. I agree that there is no reason whatsoever to be running 70 or 80mph at night, as i know a few people that do, trust me. As long as you use your head and keep safety in mind you'll be fine.
You can actually see out there better than you would think. Its not like riding around in a closed closet.
I'd be more worried running around Percy at night wide open than Old Hickory. But thats just me.
