Get together later this yr
I have noticed a certain level of friendship on this board that only could happen by members interacting with one another over a period of time. I mean it seems most of use live within 40 miles or less of each other, so travel shouldn't be an issue. And I'm thinking if planned far enough ahead of time, people can actually plan.
Would I be out of line in suggesting that we plan a meetup on the last weekend of March or 1st or last weekend of April... not for fishing but rather maybe a BBQ ??? We can plan this at a park in somewhere centralized to the group..
If not, ok, not a biggie. I'm also suggesting this because people tend to have a different persona on the internet than in person and lets face it, there has to be a certain chemistry between people to fish with.
If this goes well, maybe we can have a friendly good ole boys fishing tourn among ourselves.

Flatline, TK had a few outings for the members. All was fine until Merv showed up. The BS got so deep we had to put on waders to get to the food line.
I sent Merv a Merry Christmas text. His response was very rude. He is the same AH in person.

Flatline, SAMBOLIE loves me beause I'm the only guy on the forum who will speak to him when I see him in public, which thankfully, is rare.
And when I sent him a Dyson ball cleaner, I don't think he read the instructions before he used it.
Not my fault he wound up in the ER.

I agree... That's funny right there, I don't care who you are.
I'm getting just how things are around here now... Sambolie, I have guys in the trucking world that treat me the same way... They claim they luv ya all the while sticking "Kick Me" signs on your back then starts laughing when someone actually gives ya the boot.

I'm in for a get together. Ive only met 2 people in this forum in person. I've hung out with Merv more times than I've wanted to, and I met spottedbass at a boat ramp one time. I wish I would have spent more time talking to him but I'm a pretty shy person in general

I think Texas Rig should go back to his former job as he was a lot better at that than he is at fishing. At least he would do that job right most of the time vs how well he fishes.
I have never had any illusions of him hurting any of my favorite honey holes by over fishing them. He rarely catches fish, regardless of how many "pins" on maps I send him!

Mmmmm <'TK><
Yep we have had three get-together's in the past years ... One in H-ville (Sanders Ferry State Park) one in Lagardo access in Gallatin and one in Shelby Park ...
This sounds like a great Idea... We have had some great food and fun putting faces to usernames .. Even though Sambolie's was a shock !!
You will need someone to champion this gathering and a few folks on a committe. I will throw Flatline's name into the hat as the Champion and I am sure there will be volunteers to help on the committe... I have other irons in the fire at the present but hopefully can make it to the "doings" ... I will be glad to assist with suggestions from what was learned from the past gatherings .... Good Luck .. <'TK><

No SAMBOLIE
I would be happy to grace this proposed meeting/gathering of fine fellow fishing afficianados with my exalted presence.....if I could be promised/assured the meeting would not be sullied with the likes of the downtrodden SAMBOLIE and possibly limiting the time in presence of Texas Rig.
And of course, the scoundrel of Old Hickory Lake, the inimitable "skillet", a fisherperson of highly questionable integrity, not to mention, total lack of fishing skills.
