Where ramp is on cumberland River
Hey,
I'm trying to find a boat ramp on cumberland river, just below the old hickory dam. I know there is one right at the dam, but looking for one a little bit farther down.... trying to get closer to Myatt drive/madison bridge... been searching but can't find any boat ramps.... Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have my father in law in town, he wants to go smallmouth fishing on the river, I've never gone, don't have a clue about smallmouth bass, but don't even know where to get on the river. I searched TWRA but they only have ramp at the dam and then one down by bass pro shops, and people are saying there is 1 if not 2 imbetween...
Thanks
Chad

EN Peeler is closer to the dam than Two Lock.
BE CAREFUL, they have been releasing a lot of water.

After more than one bad experience with vehicle security at Lock 2 ramp, if I am headed for the river I am locking through the dam. Intense, if you intend to launch below the dam, anywhere, be advised it is a 2 man operation since none of the ramps have courtesy docks and you hae to beach the boat (sometimes on rocks) to go park the truck.

I have never put in at peeler park but if i was fishing the river below the dam I think i would try that ramp next. It's right across from the mouth of the Stones River at the end of Neelys Bend Road.
The last few times I went in the winter I put in at the ramp at the dam. Never had anything happen to my stuff, but man you see some crazy stuff in that parking lot!! If it was that bad in 30 degree weather I think I will pass on it in the warm weather. Im sure the warm weather will bring out plenty more people that are not there for the fishing or tranquil river view. Lol.
Then again locking thru sounds better all the time.

Thanks so much for the help. It will be 2 people, my father in law and I, hopefully it goes well....
We went out Thursday on OH, had a great time, the bass were smashing everything we threw, most 2-3 pounds so it was fun, nothing bigger, but lot of 2-3 pounders, and few 1 pounders... it was fun, best day I've ever had on OH, buy I'm new to bass fishing, and new to TN so I was stoked

I usually put in at Peeler Park at the end of Neely's Bend Road. I've never had trouble with my stuff there, but I've heard of other people having their cars broken into so take care.

The only one I have ever had real good luck is right below the Dam.
One time at the ramp off Neely's Bend, some lady came down and talked to us for several minutes at the bottom the ramp when we were catfishing. She went into a long drawn out story about being an emergency running from some dude who beat her and ask to use our phone. When we offered she said no thanks I better not then went back up the ramp. While she was down there someone else broke into our car.
At Lock 2, we pulled up to take out one night while the cops were fishing out a body.
Maybe it is just me and my luck.
