Default Chickamauga Fishing trip

Well, instead of Guntersville this year we went to Chick. First time ever on the lake and it was a blast. I did not catch a large number of fish but I did catch quality fish. I think between the 4 boats we caught upwards of 260 fish. My partner caught a 9lber and I caught 2 in the 5-5 1/2 range along with a 4.5ish along with a bunch of 14' fish. Most of the fish came off points that lead to flats along with a few on ledges. Jigs, Big crankbaits and shaky heads did the trick. Thursday and Friday were better days for fishing due to the lack of boat traffic, Saturday sucked.... I have never seen so many big cruisers on the water. Sunday was nice and overcast, we caught a good amount before 11am and left before the pleasure boats got out. All fish were post spawn and still had some bloody tails. We had a lake house with a private ramp in Dallas bay, it's so nice to be able to either leave your boat tied up to the private dock or pull it out and drive a few hundred yards to the house if needed. We caught small mouth, large mouth and spots along with a few big crappie and some cats too. I'm looking forward to going back, I think summer ledge fishing would be a blast out there.

that lake got so rough I don't think I would want to fish it out of the yak. I did see about 10 while I was on the water, most stayed up in the coves or bays.

I love fishing from the yak but it's nice to be able to fish out of a big boat too. Nothing like flying down the lake early in the morning.
