We had some friends in from out of town, so we thought it would be fun to take a relaxing float down the Caney on Saturday. I put the kayak in the water about a half hour after they turned off the generator. No one in our group was fishing but me, but I had a blast tossing the ultra light and a trout magnet catching many stockers. I did have a few 14-16 inchers hit and spit the bait a few times. I also put on a small husky jerk in an area where I knew there were some dandy's hanging out. I had one hit, but never connected. And I had 3 follows from big rainbows. 2 were in the 21-23 inch range and the other I am guessing to be around 17-18. But they didn't want to commit. And since it was a recreational float, I wasn't allowed to hold everyone back and paddle back up and spend some time with those nice fish! HAHA. Oh well. I had fun with the little guys!
