The lake has finally completed turning over and it's business as usual with temps up at the split around 43 and 46 down on the lower end.
I hit the water around 9 am with regular client Carlie Lyon looking for a big walleye. We struck gold around 11 and were back at the dock for lunch. Since he got what he came for he headed home. That gave me the opportunity to put away the walleye gear and grab some light stuff for some smallie action. On my way back to town the next morning I met a buddy of mine below Cordell who had never fished tail races for sauger. It's been more than twenty years since I've fished for them. We got a few and missed a few including these two overs, 18 and 17.5. We really had a blast for a couple hours befor the wind chased us off. That's the first time I've fished anywhere but Dale in twelve years....
