I have met a few of the original Bass Pros, Bill Dance has always been my favorite. When you talk to him he treats you like his best friend just like Charlie Daniels. In the late 70's or very early 80's there was a contest where the winner got to fish a tournament on Priest with the celebrity fisherman of his choice. Having a good friend who worked at Bill Clay's at the time and who helped at the tournament got me a chance to meet the celebrities.
At the end of the first day all but Roland hurried to get away. Roland stayed and fine tuned some of his baits. He talked to me at length as if we were good friends. Bill Dance was somewhat rude acting as if it pithed him off to speak to anyone.
