I will take it a step further and say that at least half of the gamefish that stripers eat have been recently caught and released by somebody. Giving them a wounded, not healthy action. Or is otherwise compromised. I use bluegill for bait from time to time, they work. But the reaction to a bluegill on the hook I believe is different from how a striper would react to a fee swimming bluegill, or other gamefish. As for the trout, well they are raised in a pen and have to learn quick. They are and should be fair game for all, just my 2 cents.
