I've seen it as high as 12 feet in some bays. That is probably why the Bandit 200 is outperforming the deeper diving 300. I fish the 300 in seventeen FOW and will snag up at 14-15 ft. The 200 only gets down to about 10-11 ft.
Yes, my thinking exactly. Sometimes I will still use the 300 but with less line out so it won't dive as deep. I have a better selection of colors in my tacklebox in the 300 series.

For those that may not be aware, you can find out how deep you are diving by casting and gradually trolling water more shallow until you see your crank bouncing on the bottom. Careful though. It is also a great way to lose crank baits.
