Fenwick Rods
 

Does anyone have experience with Fenwick Rods? I’m a huge fan of Falcon rods, but that do not offer the size and power I’m looking at for my next rod (that is within my price range).

Specifically, I’m looking at either the HMG or HMX. Any advice on Fenwick or the HMG and HMX rods?

Me and my son have several Fenwick Elite Tech Series rods. I have the River Runner UL and L action rod and love them. Also have the Elite Tech Small Mouth Rod. They are great rods. The guides on the Elite Tech River Runner Series are the best guides I have seen on a rod. They are titanium frames with Fuji ceramic inserts. I have put these rods through a lot and they hold up great. The River Runner rods have landed several thousand fish. Am wanting to try the 2014 version of that rod.

Thanks for the reply Alpha. I've narrowed it down to the Fenwick Elite Tech, St Croix Avid, or TFO Tactical rod. Do you have any experience with the other two?

I know the Avid's have very good reviews, but if the Elite Tech is just as good then that's $50 less. I do like the hidden handle design in the Elite Tech.

All of those are great rods IMHO. I don't think you would go wrong with any of them.
