Motor reference question

Anyone know an online source to find the spark plug gap setting for an 85 Johnson 40 hp? Flooded my motor and afraid I might have fouled my plugs also so want to replace them.

spark plug gap

champion plug QL77JC4 gapped at .030. This is for an 89, should be the same. This is also what my 150 Johnson uses.

Water in my fuel. Fuel filter was half full of water. Anyone know where to find one of those?

First yep, Merv is correct, most brands of two stroke motors up and down the HP range require .030 Gap ...

Yep number two ... The water is caused by ethanol ... Ethanol absorbs water ... A carb'd motors worst nightmare !! Find Ethanol free Fuel ... Josh I may have a fuel filter .... <'TK><

Thank you. New plugs, drained fuel, drained bowl, drained and dried fuel filter, drained bowls of carbs, fresh fuel fired up on first turn of the key!
