Cajun Vol 02-21-2014 04:33 PM

Hello from a transplant....

Hey guys and gals,

After being born and raised in southeast Louisiana, 30 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico, my family and I just moved up to Sumner county for work. I will miss the saltwater fishing, but there seems to be an abundance of great freshwater opportunities to wet a line here!

Anyways, I just wanted to drop in and say hi. If there are any locals with pointers, shop recommendations or other general info that would be good to know about the area I am all ears and would appreciate it.

All the best,
Cajun Vol

Welcome to the board and also welcome to Hendersonville. Old Hickory and Percy priest are both good lake to fish through out the entire year. If you have any questions give me a holler or if you like home brewed beer ill have you over to try some.

Beer !!!!

Welcome to Tennessee, Fish bite all year or at least most of the year.

If the dam is drawing hard the Bass will pull off and suspend over points
and if ya like cat they feed like crazy mid june during the may-fly hatch
(it's also spawn time for em).

Let the good times roll!!!

Welcome, we have green trout and sac-a-lait. Good luck

Cajun vol,

If it's "catching" fishing advice you're after, gboyce and SAMBOLIE are the two guys on this board you DON'T want to listen to!

If you want to hear fish STORIES, then they are the go to guys.

Thanks for the responses guys!

One question I had being so close to Nashville was water quality. Are there any areas in the vicinity that are of concern? I don't recall seeing any fish tissue advisories but I figured I'd double check with those on the water daily.

The water quality is good in this area. Unless Merv has been swimming in the area. :)

That actually sounds really good. I attempted home brewing once.

That's funny.. I was talking to someone in Bass Pro the other day and I made referrence to sac au lait. You would have sworn I had just grown a 3rd arm from the puzzled look I got!http://www.sherv.net/cm/emoticons/co...y-emoticon.gif
