Catfish on trout magnet

Went around Percy Priest because I could not find someone to drive me to Old Hickory. Caught about only 10 small gills, 1 warmouth, and one channel catfish. It was caught with a white trout magnet with 4 pound test sos line. Took me like 6 minutes to get it in. For the first 3 I did not know where it was. It was caught at fate sanders recreation area.

Nice cat! Still haven't caught a cat on a TM. My wife caught a small flathead on a CM.

This 24 pound Flathead cat was caught on a 1/32" Crappie Magnet tipped with a minnow in January last year on 8 pound line while crappie fishing on Woods. The fish was about 22 feet deep and was returned to the lake after the photo. I am sure he would have hit on the Trout Magnet as well.

Wow, how long did it take you to get it in?

It took about 15 minutes to land the fish. They just swim around and you gradually gain on them until they can be dipped. I had another big one on the next week on a rod without much line and it spooled me and broke off.
