Where did you read that cat-man?

Fish Whisperer 03-31-2013 09:45 AM

I haven't heard that, but wouldn't doubt it...

The Corps has loaded the dredge boat and is on the way to Cordell hull dam and expects to arrive April 8th and begin installing permanent keep out buoys on April 9th. This restriction requires a rewrite of the OMP at each of the 10 dams.

It's possible they have rewritten the OMP but not possible they followed their own current OMP to do so as I will show below. And if they have not changed their OMP then they are even more in violation of their own policy.

"Gain public acceptance. Provide a realistic management approach that will heighten the public’s awareness and alert people to the hazards within the restricted areas. With the exception of a few restrictions (i.e. life jacket requirements), access to the structures has been allowed since construction was completed. Limited access restrictions when hazards exist will be better received and accepted by the public than more restrictive measures such as prohibiting access at all times.
Current Operational Management Plan – Lake Barkley Section 32-5 (b)"

I guess the above common sense approach is now out the window. The arrogance of the Nashville District has reached new heights. Wade White

Remember the picture of the student standing in front of the tank in China? How about a bunch of fishermen anchored in the channel down stream from the Dam. If there were enough of us it could possibly make the national news to help regain new wind in our sails. I would take off work to stand for our rights. If they don't understand diplomacy may they would get this.
