Greenbrier River West Virginia

Anybody ever fished Greenbrier River near Caldwell, W. Virginia? I have to go to a wedding there next month and trying to squeeze in some wading for smallies.

Beautiful state. Bicycled the rails to trails. Great time.

Second what Jaycee said.

We honeymooned up that way in a mountain cabin. I'd recommend on the way home if you can take the drive through Appalachia, Harlan, Pineville, Corbin, Daniel Boone NF, Somerset, Glasgow the hit 65 south.

It's a great scenic drive and alternative to 40/81 Interstates. Once you get through the mountains area of Ky to Somerset its a straight shot on Cumberland Pkwy to 65.

Camped sort of near there along the river (lots of trains). I didn't see any good wading areas, mostly too deep. However the fishing was good for others in kayaks and pontoons. We actually fished over on the New.

Thanks Guys. Will give a report if I can find some time to fish it. Sounds like very good smallmouth water from the info I could find on the web.
