Headed out the door for Nickajack and decided my knee could not make that trip so went to Normandy. Begged my doc for some Celebrex for the knee and he obliged. Just for info this might be my last post for a while....I mean fishing trip. My knee collapsed on me at Normandy today and I heard the pop. Needless to say I was in pain.....it was hard getting back to vehicle. But before that I caught about 60 stocker trout and a few Spotted bass that I did not take any pics of...the Spots were all only about 9 or 10 inches. Some of the trout I caught today had a little weight on them. It was a lot of fun.....love catching those trout with the ultra light using 2# test and since I was fishing for trout today had on 2# test fluorocarbon leader.......and there are plenty trout in there. Used Bison and black colored Trout Magnet. Normandy is only short drive for me and gives me a good fishing fix in the winter.

I hate to hear that AlphaHawk. I have not been on this site long but I look forward to seeing your post about your trips. You seem to have a lot of success and have have me some great pointers. We're you fishing from the bank today? I stopped by there the other day and had a little luck with my Tenkara.

Yeah fished from the bank. They have put some decent size trout in. There is a huge population of crawfish there and those fish dumped in November will have some good shoulders by May and June. It is probably one of the most favorite places for me and my son to fish together. As for my knees it has been coming on for a while. I have been overweight most of my life but never this big. The weight is coming off...but have long way to go. Since I have had a pulmonary embolism they will have to put a filter at the input artery to my heart before surgery. But when my knees are done I am going to get back to fishing 5 days a week and hit my spots for several days at a time.....already buying camping gear.....plus hit some new spots. Life is good!

That's the Spirit! I will contact TWRA and let them know that the fish population in middle Tn is fixing to spike rapidly for short period of time due to your absence.

Sorry to hear the news, Alpha.

I'm sure if everyone listens quietly, we can hear the collective sigh of relief from all the crappie in the lakes Alpha fishes.

Hope you recover soon,
Chris

Thanks for all the nice words. I plan on being back out ASAP. This weather should cool the water off a few more degrees and hopefully make the bigger crappie come out.

Sorry to hear that buddy, get that knee healed up quick! I will shoot up a few words to the man upstairs, and it will get done! Looking forward to fishing with you again!

Hopefully, you can have speedy recovery and a nephew that will come pick you up in the mean time....

At least the injury occured closer to home and you were able to make it out.

Yeah that wold be nice.....but his mother...my sister is flat of her back with a antibiotic cement brick fused in one of her knees and will get another knee in about 8 weeks. So he has got his hands full. You all just keep catching fish and posting....reading them will give me something to do and make me want to get back out there and work harder.
