The Caney or the Piney?
Hey Y'all,
I have tomorrow off due to a wonderful invention called "summer Fridays". I want to take the ol' kayak on a river trip. Anyone have a preference b/w the Caney and the Piney? Not sure what the water levels will be like on the former. Both have clear, cold water. The former is mostly trout; the latter small-sized small mouth. I'll be spin casting but I might also try out my new fly fishing rod (until I get too frustrated). Any suggestions would be appreciated... Best, Doc |
I have always heard the Piney was full of snakes but I have never been there myself. If that is true then I will never go regardless how fishing is.
Personally, I'd say Caney. If you have been a bunch and floated the top section more times than not try a different stretch. There are plenty of fishing opportunities for multiple species along it. |
Yeah...I've seen a few snakes out there. But they seem like water snakes mostly.

Whenever you find a honey hole, tell everyone it is loaded with bad snakes that will crawl right into a kayak. Secrets of an old fisherman.
