Walleye fishing @ tims
 

They have really been building the Normandy walleye fishery and it keeps getting better from what I hear. That may be a smaller area to dissect.

I don't know much about Tims...but Normandy would be my choice if I was Walleye fishing.

they are both very good. and last i heard they where realy dumping the walleye into normandy.

but today on tims we caught 8 or 9 walleye. with two being keepers. and this was while bass fishing. it kinda surprised us.

well we fished up lake around estill springs park. and also around cable crossing.

i would have normally said look for some points close to deep water. but yesterday we caught them all in less then 6ft of water in the middle of the day on crankbaits. also up a creek not in the main lake.

I fish occasionally for Walleye on Tim's. In the summer I do most of my fishing on Tim's on the Lower third near the Dam. Fish the flat side of islands and points. I like clay or small gravel or mixed. Some chunk rock thrown in is good too. As stated earlier these fish will feed very shallow right now, even right up to the bank. I would patrol these banks with crankbaits or a crawler rig, working from the bank on down to the 20' drop or so. A productive spot will usually show a school hanging a little deeper, I beleive they take turns raiding the shallows on such points. This will usually last on until into August. They also respond well to fishing under a light at night.

Thank You Striperfan. I am going tonight. I am planning on putting in at the State Park and fishing the area just past the bridge (towards Devils Step). I went there last week and caught a couple with the lights but mostly stripers and crappie. I would not have thought of fishing for them shallow this time with it so hot. Thank You, again.
