Info on Nickajack
This was originally a PM for..Clean Air...but his mailbox is full so thought I would post here.
Was thinking of driving down to Nicakajack tomorrow to check it out. They are releasing about 25,000CFS. The reason I ask that is as you know each of these dams are different...if they were releasing 25,000CFS at Pickwick I probably would not go there...just not enough water for really good fishing..most of the time. Is that enough water to catch something? I don't really care what I catch. I will have a light..ultra light...and a Bass Rod spooled with 6# test fluorocarbon with me. I would be happy just to get into some Bluegill or good White Bass like I did at Pickwick today. Some Smallie action would be nice but having never been there will just have to check out the lay of the place. I have got to go sooner or later might as well be tomorrow. My son did not get off today but is hoping to next week and I need to check it out before I take him down so I can have some idea of where to fish. Regards |
25,000 cfs is about ideal at Nickajack. I was down there Saturday fishing about the same conditions. I didn't get into any white bass or smallies but there were a lot of cats and drum being caught. Bring a net and catch some shad and you'll do well.
