Yellow Perch anyone
1 Attachment(s)
Had to do some work in Western NY. Made arrangements to fish with some buddies. we nailed the big yellow perch. Canandaigua Lake. Faces painted out due to how very secret they are about this spot. 38-39 degree water. 60' of water using flies/spikes, sliders and minnows with 1 ounce bell sinker. These are the finest eating fish on earth. I wish I could find them here in Tennessee. I miss catching them. Tried crappie the next day. 43 degrees best we found. NY is as behind in season as we are. But when the crappie bite is on, ITS ON. shallow water spawning last two weeks and hard to beat it. Been out of the loop in TN for about 10 days. Hope to fish this weekend.

Wow those are monster size perch from what I have seen of them! Nice catches.

Those are some nice jumbos. Little hint, all of the reservoirs east of the main stem TN have fishable populations of yellow perch.

Reminds me of home.....(tear)
Great catches and some slab filets! |
Those are some nice ones. Poor mans shrimp.

Those are slabs. Love eating those "striped walleyes". My home state of Michigan had big ones like that. I've bumped into a few perch by accident in Kentucky Lake, but never caught any big ones there. Probably a genetic thing.
