20 inch smallie

Took a couple Massachusetts guys fishing Friday morning on Priest.
Second cast with a popping cork and fluke, Ben hooks up with a nice 20 inch smallmouth. Don't know why, but it never made any jumps. Got some photos, revived it and sent it on it's way.
For the next hour, on a variety of baits, we caught smallmouth, largemouth, and hybrids. Kinda surprised we didn't catch any white bass but we didnt.
Baits of choice were popping cork and fluke, 4 inch Charlie Brewer pearl white slider with a 1/4 oz pink jig head (that I make), assorted popper/chugging top waters (bone color worked best), and a Texas rigged nine inch purple worm with 1/4 oz bullet weight.
We fished shallow rocky points on Priest and would have had about a 16 lb sack, had we kept any fish.
All were released to fill some tournament anglers sack.

Sounds like a great day and a good report! I plan on hitting the lake this week after the idiots thin out.
