Caney in Falls
1 Attachment(s)
Saturday fished from 5AM-10:00AM.
Caught 48. Lost at least that many. No monsters, biggest was 17" brown. Mix was 50/50. No Brooks. I caught 10 on cranks. Interesting part was that I threw one color and caught 4. Casted and casted in the same area. Nothing. Then I changed color, same size, caught 6 more and lost at least that many. Color does matter. Funny thing happened: at 9:18AM the sirens sounded. There was no scheduled generation. I pulled anchor and moved to the ramp. Thought sluice??? One generation door was opened and the water rose.... for about 5 minutes, then the doors were closed. Water down. Very odd. I bet a friend I could catch 1,000 trout from April 1 to December 31. I have 392 to go. At this rate I need 7 more trips. All fingers crossed. Heck or high water (generation) I'm going to give 'em hell. Need a couple of 100 fish days. Not impossible at the FORK. Good fishing. |
Sounds like a great day..

Thank God for the Caney because bass fishing on Old Hickory this year has been very disappointing for me.

I went yesterday morning @ the rest stop for a couple hours. Caught 21. Same as you, no biggies. Oddly enough the experience I had was I fished a deep hole where they usually stack up and the bite was really slow. Moved to the ankle deep riffle and caught one almost every cast.
