Personal best on the Caney
Went to the Caney Fork around 6 am this morning. Fished at the rest stop. Caught 5 fish real quick then people started to crowd me so I move up river towards the bridge by the interstate. Caught a few more bows then the sun came out and the bite slowed down. About 10:30 am a big brown nailed my nightcrawler and flew out of the water like a torpedo. He made 3 big jumps like that during the fight coming clean out of the water. Landed him with no problems and he measured just a tad over 20 inches. One of the most beautiful fish I've ever caught. The only part that sucks is that I was by myself and couldn't get a good pic..All in all had a great day. Caught 19 fish all on nightcrawlers.

Beautiful fish! Do you use a float with the nightcrawlers?

Oh and I was using a #6 hook but found I was gut hooking too many fish, so this past weekend I went with a little bigger hook a #4 and did not gut hook any fish at all.

Awesome, thanks! I may hit the Caney this weekend, and looking for an easy way for my 9 year old to get on some fish. I was thinking trout magnet, but this might be better.
