Hybrid around Jefferson springs?
I'm working with a guy who told me to check out the Jefferson bridge for Hybrids this time of year and wanted to see if anyone ever fishes that far up river this time of year. I've just picked up a cast net and wanted to try it out and then maybe catch some hybrids with the bait.

It is true. Set live baits 10-15' deep and you should be good to go. Keep a small topwater handy for occasional busting LMB's. I have not fished there much, but was given the same advice a couple of years ago, tried it out, and caught a few fish.

I would love to hear if this is true because that ramp is right down from the house but we always go to long hunter. we can't make it to OH so any help for hybrids on jpp would be great!!

It's true. We killed it today. First time ever throwing a cast net and catching my own bait.

Looks like fun, good job.

You're going to convince me to come to the dark side and start using live bait.
Nice outing man, you sure racked up some KW points for us! |

My dad and I were the only ones using live bait. There were a few other boats around us throughout the morning and we were the only ones really catching anything. One boat caught a few white bass but nothing like we were doing. The only negative was I lost my hawg trough, it got knocked in the lake and before I could get maneuvered to grab it it was already to deep for me to net. That's a total of Three since last December. |
Well that explains a lot. SAMBOLIE has been trying to sell "extra" Hawg Troughs for $5 each. I guess he found them and has no use for them since they only measure fish larger than 8 inches.
