JPP report from 8-17

Went out Sunday morning at sunrise till about 945. Caught 14 total Crappie kept seven between 11 1/2 inches and 13 1/2 inches. I noticed the shorter fish were coming in 12 foot of water while the larger were in about 18 feet of water. Trolling crankbaits once again water temperature 82.6. I was mostly around ponderosa island.

Nice work! Similar results for me on Friday morning. It was a pretty decent day.

My grandfather and I went Friday night. I took my boat and he had his with is friend. I left before midnight and caught 12 crappie. They stayed and said it turned on after midnight, left with 43 keepers, 18 12" or so and I think 4 that were 14 or 15". They fished a drop in 37-40' of water. I was in 35' over brush.

Dakota, what type of trolling setup do you use?

Yeah, I was a little disappointed knowing that they killed it after I left but I knew better than to stay to late. My son got up at 5:15 Saturday morning and no matter what time I go to bed I'm getting up when he does. When I left I dropped off one of my Submersible green lights to them. They started catching fish after that, So I can take some credit right??

I have driftmaster rod holders on each side of my boat and one in the back. The 2 rods out the side are 7'2 and the 1 out the back is 6'6. I use 20lb powerpro braid with a 12lb XT mono trilene liter, I use the double Albright knot for this which never breaks if you tie correctly. When I need to rip through brush it helps with heavier line. I use all spinning reels, too. Hope that helps.
