Be safe night fishing

The last couple weeks I have seen some crazy stuff on the water after dark. On the 4th I fished CH. i saw 2 things that blew my mind. The first was there was a boat that went past us with a skier in tow. There was a little moonlight and I could see the skier. The second instance was on the same night. There was a ski boat that went into cove hollow all the way to the boat ramp at full speed. For those of you that haven't been to Cove Hollow that is roughly 750 yards past the no wake bouys and in the middle of a marina. They had the radio blaring and yelling the whole way in.

Just the other night I was fishing JPP at about 2am. I didn't have any idea there was a boat around until it cranked up and took off down the lake. Not a single light on the boat!

Same thing happened to me Wednesday night on old hickory. Fishing a stretch of bank and trolled right next to guys fishing with no lights. Heard them talk and nearly crapped my pants.

I have been seeing some of the worst boating ever this year.

Be careful out there and keep a watch on other boats..

Josh, there is a fellow who fishes only at night on Priest.
He shuts off his lights cause he doesn't want folks to know where he's fishing, might be the same guy.

Be safe

My son and I were fishing Priest on Friday night. After dark, a bass boat comes down the lake at a pretty good clip with no lights. I could barely make him out when he was west of me but once he passed I couldn't see him at all. There were a lot of boats moving around at that time so I couldn't believe he was running dark.

This is exactly why I don't fish at night.....no common sense any more.

This thread could go on for months Lol. I fish alot at night and it seems after about 10:00 the lake tends to calm down quite a bit. Although I have had to hit a few boats with a spotlight while I'm out fishing a ledge. Lights on, black lights on, and they still seem to head right at you!

It's just so damn dangerous and uncalled for! That's how people die. The boat I saw on JPP was doing the same thing. I heard him crank up and it startled me because he was so close. I thought he would turn his lights on when he started to leave but he never did.

Kayaks and Canoes

Have every right to be on the water and when I see someone out there near where I"m going to be I always come off plane as a courtesy. But I've noticed that a ton of these folks are leaving Pool Knobs ramp by my house and paddling over to the island for camping without a single light or device of any kind! I saw a couple with two kids in tow the other night. Yelled at them but they never turned a head. Be especially careful in that area guys.
