Cumberland River striper

Went out Yesterday morning for about four hours with a buddy. Got the cast net out for some 7inch threadfin which took about 30 minutes. Pulled up to our first spot and I saw a striper surface had my buddy pick up my jumping minnow an cast in the area no takers. He rigged up with a shad and was setting up his rod out of the back of the boat in boom striper on. Nice size nothing huge but a great start. Then rigged up a couple planer boards and Balloon Rigs and unfortunately we only had the one fish for the morning. Kind a wish we would’ve work the area little harder with top water and maybe some A-rigs before trolling. Oh well next time.

Nice fish thanks for the report , It appears the Cumberland has a small amount of current so maybe that will help you Rock fishermen!

Thanks Fellas. Cordell Hull had 1 generator going a few hours that morning. Some current but more would have been nice.
