stuck mapping card
 

I have a Lowrance HDS 9 gen2 touch. I have a Navionics mapping card stuck in the lower slot. I can remove the micro card from the adapter but I can't get the adapter out. I have looked online and there are lots of remedies like pull it out with pliers. What I don't know is, will I damage the slot if I force it out? Any advice?
