Below Cheatham 3\14

Took a friend of mine who I went to High School with today. First time we ever fished together and had a blast. Started about 1 pm and caught 30 or so whites, 5 keeper crappie, 1 hybrid, and 1 small rockfish all on 1\8oz jigs and 2 inch tubes. Caught the majority in 1 spot and while cleaning one of the smaller whites found what was holding them there. They were feeding on small bluegill and shellcracker. I found one that was fresh enough in a large male that I could see the red ear.

That's crazy!!! I've never seen fish so gorged on forage that the belly was still full of them!! But then again I don't really dig that far. Lol

Were any of the bluegill still kicking? Just out of curiosity

No bluegill still kicking but some were fresh enough you could tell whether they were red ears or bluegill. I don't normally open their stomachs either but when they were that full I had to see. The fish in that picture already had the filet cut off the other side. I thought it was a small female but was wrong.

Tube body was yellow with a chartreuse tail. We used a chartreuse 1\8oz head with some fluorescent red accent. About the only time we deviate much from that color combo is if the water is really muddy.
