Titansfan,

Yes I'm from the Boro. Does Mark Adams have a website?

Reason I asked is there is a guy on our predator hunting forums that uses Mdp(murfreesboro police department) southeasterncoyote.com. as a matter of fact that guy came to our meeting back in march at shoneys!! Was that you??? And yes he has a site as well as a Facebook. Google his name along with guide service in tn

Sorry Titansfan but it wasn't me. I think I know who you are talking about though. I work with him and will ask him about it when he returns. He took 2 weeks off to go hunting. Go figure. Thanks for the info. on Mark Adams. I will have to call him to see if he does Dale Hollow though. it wasn't on his website.

To fish Dale Hollow, I believe you'd be better off getting one of the guides that work that lake full time.

The first time I went to Dale Hollow I left thinking there were no fish in it... That lake has a history of humbling seasoned fishermen..
I'm thinking about hiring a guide this winter.

What would be your intentions with a guide?

Fish Whisperer 10-24-2012 08:30 PM

To learn different techniques...

To put us on some fish. My brother-in-law has a house on Horse Creek but last time we were up there about 3 years ago we couldn't catch a cold much less a fish. I would like for my brother to catch some small jaws when he comes up and I know Dale Hollow is notorious for them.

Dale Hollow is also famous for kicking anglers in the ass, too, LOL.

Bill Dance filmed a show on Dale Hollow many years ago. In three days of fishing, with a guide, he caught three smallmouths, biggest being about two pounds.

This time of the year, I'd be fishing shiners on six pound test on a light to medium light action rod. Probably fishing bluff walls and points, no weight, free lining, definitely from first light on.

Just remember, it's DALE HOLLOW!

I fished it last winter using the techniques listed above. Me and two friends. They each caught and landed three smallies, none bigger than 17 inches. I had three on and didn't boat one.

The next day I boated three while the other two, Dale Hollow experienced fisherman, hooked none, boated none. So, it can be a humbling lake.

Ageless,

Dale is fishing TOUGH right now. I regularly check on other forums and they all have the same consensus: fish are with bait, and the bait is staying in 35-50 ft depths. Towards evening the bait starts to move shallow, but the bite is only marginally better. After this coming cold snap, the spoon bite should turn on. I think the shiner pattern is a month or so away from being good. I hit it last year after talking to you about it, and midtnkayakangler, my bro in law and I took our kayaks out there. We fished near cedar creek and I landed 3, biggest was around 3.5 lbs.

I spent three weekends at Dale Hollow so far this fall and it is nowhere near where it usually is fishing wise.. I'll probably go back in a few weeks though..

Not really pertaining to the thread but is related sort of: Bill loves smallies so much that the TN Smallmouth plate numbered 1 is his.

Get Dave from Troll DHL

I went with Dave last year and we did really well.

Trip report here:
