Well I finally found some stuff to clean my boat. Now I just have to put a coat of wax on it to help keep it that way.

Dang that is nice! What did you use.

I couldn't find anything to clean my jon boat either but resorted to oven cleaner...that work but left swirls in the finish. Guess it was too abrasive.

Called ( Toon Brite ) sprayed it in and waited about 2 minutes then rinsed off. Just need to wax it so it stays.

Any idea if that works on FIberglass boats.

I would probably not use it on fiberglass. I think that same company makes something for fiberglass.

I used to own a fiberglass boat and I used a product called Ducky. Spray on, wipe off. I used it after most trips, but didn't need to. It polished it and took off all water spots! It was great!

Can anyone recommend a good way to protect the finish I now have on the boat?

Sweet job! I don't think my basstracker has looked that shiny in 20 years :)

I might have to try this out.

The only down fall is. Once you do it it will need to be protected with something or the next time in the water it is back. I am still looking for something to protect it with

Put a dust cover over it and never take it outside.:)

Seriously, I never found anything to use on a boat that lasted long. Please let us know if you find something.

Thanks for sharing how to clean an aluminum boat. THink I will apply to my Tracker.

I use WD 40 to clean the white residue off my motor.
