We left Smyrna about two yesterday, and we got to hendersonville about 3. Fished Drakes creek for about an hour, not very long. But it was long enough to lose a expensive crankbait, catch 5 or 6 keeper bluegill on trout magnets, and my brother to catch a 5 or 6 pound drum on a spinnerbait. That was just when they started releasing water from the lake, so the water turned chocolate milk in a hurry, so we tried around ancor high marina. We walked down about 200 yards or so, along the riprap bank, and proceded to catch about 100 small bluegill, 15 or so keeper gills, 2 baby largemouth bass, 1 baby smallmouth (first one ever!), and an 8 inch lm. Funny, on my ultralight with the 8 incher, I was saying "It feels huge!, This is not a bluegill, Its a giant!" lol. All we had to do was just let the trout magnet sit there, and it would not reach the bottom, using the twitch method? We did not even get a bite twitching it at all, not even one! Bison, green with red flake, white, pink, salmon peach, it all worked yesterday! Some of the fish are green sunfish, and one was a longear sunfish( The most colorful fish in freshwater). Funny everybody was asking what we were using, and we gave them all trout magnets. haha

Yeah, Trout Magnet is the stuff man. It works a lot better than live bait for me most of the time!

Several years ago, I saw a guy on TV fileting bluegills. He talked about "unzipping" something as part of the process. Anyone heard of this. Since I am using TMs I might as well eat some of those bluegills.

Never heard of it for bluegill, but I saw a trout video on unzipping something
