I RAN IN TO A FELLOW MEMBER OF THE SITE ON THE DAY HE WAS BUYING AN ASCEND HE ASKED ABOUT THE MODS IVE DONE SO...........
Here Are A Few Mods I Did To My Kayak . I Have A Hard Time Standing With The Seat So Low So I Moved It Up To The Top. Believe It Or Not The Stability Is Still Great.

Nice ride manchester.

Are those factory mods or did you customize them yourself?

Thanks dude!!! All custom. It was hard to stand sitting so low so I raised the seat. Works pretty good. I added some rod holders and I built an awesome cart today I will post some pics tomorrow.

Rich, Good looking boat and the mods look good too dude. Me and a few friends all went out yesterday and floated the harpeth river in kingston springs. It was my first trip in the D12 and my buddy pauls first trip in his coosa. We had a blast, although the water was super low and we had to walk alot. I found out the coosa drafts in alot shallower water than mine. Of course I guess the fact that Im a whole lot heavier than paul might have made a big difference. :o Anyways I came up with my own solution to the high seat mod on an ascend boat. Its just some aluminum angle from TSC, some grinding, shaping and riveting. I used bungees to retain it in position, although it seems I need to be farther forward towards the center of the boat......but all in all it worked pretty good. Check it out and let me know what you think. Im planning alot more stuff for it and will keep you updated.

Nice mod, but be careful, just a couple inches can throw off stability tremendously, but it also depends on the size and the individuals balance. It's amazing how much more you can see from an elevated position. Like this past weekend I was fishing for trout. I could see a lot of big ones 5lb+, but they did'nt like anything I had to offer.

yeah i was worried about that myself that is why i made everything temporary but after spending about 5 hours on the water with it like that it is actually really stable. I have it where i can drop it down when i get in any moving water. never fished trout but got some at the market yesterday and grilled it last night i have a a great recipe if anyone is interested!! Sorry about the bad luck fishing that has to be maddening when you can see em but they wont bite!! got something to ask ya gonna PM ya later !
