Went Crappie fishing Friday afternoon. Biggest one was 13 inch. Several 9 inch. Was trolling with crankbaits off the creek channel with structure about 12-17 ft. I always catch bigger crappie doing this. Water temp was 58-60 cedar creek area. Also caught a few around dock with trout magnet and slip bobber.

Went to OH Sunday 4-10 from daybreak to about 11 AM. Found crappie shallow using slip bobber and tube jigs with Berkley Crappie Nibbles. Caught most fish in less than 4' all on wood structure. Several 14" fish in the mix. Odd thing though none of them had eggs when I cleaned them. Water temp 57-58, a little high and stained. Fish were not aggressive, had to soak the jig in any given spot.

We caught some Sunday as well on one of the baits we had. They were almost all pretty shallow but only a couple were keeper size.

We ran into a guy on the water who had been catching them all week he said. Said something the effect of over 60 keepers last week on banks with deep water real close in about 10ft but on Sunday he said they moved back out again.

I've been Crappie fishing Cordell Hull the last couple weeks. Crappie are hitting great. The trouble is finding structure. The lake level has been up and down so much. You could find a couple trees holding fish today and then go back tomorrow and the water has dropped a couple feet. If you find structure in more than 4 feet of water, YOU WILL CATCH CRAPPIE.
