Hi everyone I am new here, love the board.

Went out on the boat Monday out of Stewarts Creek. Caught 3 nice keeper crappie, a nice white bass, and several yellow bass on red and chartruese tube jig. Crappie were caught in 3-6 ft, white and yellows were caught in the shallow flats. Not as fast as it had been the week before (had been catching several crappie, but few keepers), but a pretty good day. Would love to hear any reports from fellow Percy Priest Fishermen.

I am going to try to go out this afternoon if the weather clears up a little, I will post if I go and let you know how it goes. -Jeff

I am hoping to tear them up tomorrow. I am going with my son and my dad so I may spend more time fixing snarls and snags. Looks like the last "warm" day for a little while so hopefully will be good.

Crappie were in 3 - 6 ft in January? Is this normal? With water this cold, I thought they would be much deeper.

Yeah, I was pretty surprised, I was going after the yellow bass. The water temp where we were was 51.

We caught them like that on Old Hickory last year in Feb through early March near Cages Bend. If it was a mild day, we headed for the water and found them off the main lake in the first cove around about 3-6ft of water on cover.

The closest boat ramp to Spring creek would be Fall creek, then head
down stream, or you could put in at Lamar Hill boat ramp and go up stream. From the bank you can get to Spring creek from Maddox road
off of N Lamar Rd.
