I found this uTube Vid today on catching, cleaning and fixing Asian Carp and big head Carp. I have to admit I'm curious to say the least.

Great video.

It takes a lot of resources and time for these guys to cook their
fish.
I wonder what the fish tastes like cooked conventional style.

If a man needs to survive Any fish is well received in the pan.

I worked with Officer Dave and Dr Han at TVA for two years, great people doing the Lords work. They spoke about how tasty the carp actually is and is a staple in the Asian market for substance. Personally, I would cut the top flank and let it be as Y bones are a hassle unless a good flank is available like Pike. I'm not beyond having carp for dinner if I get enough to dress.

I wouldn't mess with a small carp, but I would think if you got a 20-40 lb carp that one could get a nice chunk of meat off it.

They are great cooked on a cedar plank.
Season the plank with your favorite spices.
Cook until carp is done.
Toss carp in garbage and eat the cedar plank.

They are actually very good. Several years back it was either TWRA or the TN Wildlife Federation.....can't remember which one....was frying them up at some festival I was at in Nashville. The devil is in the cleaning. When I used to fish Pickwick a lot years back I would get into some rather large ones...if they are easier to clean I would have certainly kept them.

Alphahawk, it was at one of the last fishing shows at the Nashville Fairgrounds. I was tempted to try it because they said it was very similar to canned tuna. I passed and went to the sauger jig booth and went home.

My fishing buddy's wife likes to go with him occasionally. They were on the Cumberland and he was fishing while she lounging. A large Asian Carp jumped in the boat an landed in her lap. The fish left a lot of crap all in her lap.
She will no longer go to Cumberland with him.

That sounds like the cumberland.
They are swarming below OHD right now.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. I love catching Asian Carp and I find baking the best way of cooking them.
