With all this rain, will the tailrace be a wash-out? I just wanna go catch a fish somewhere tomorrow. I don't care if it's bass or crappie. IF the tailrace is too bad I'll probably go to Tim's. Just want to feel something pull a little. Thanks for any help, Scott

Scott see, AlphaHawk post, Tailrace fishing is great anytime they are pulling. If in a boat be super safe and wear the PFD and have the boat in tip top condition with a competent partner. Never go by yourself in a boat below the dam.

Good info also if anchored keep a hatchet at ready not in a compartment next to anchor line.

The beauty of fishing the Nickajack talirace is even if gates are open you stay in the Pond next to the boat ramp. No current there at all and fish stack up in there from now through spring.

Thanks Randy, Next time I get to go, I'll head to NJ tailrace. I didn't have any luck at Tim's. I was scared I would ride down to Nickajack and the water would be almost "unfishable". Might not have mattered as much as the wind blew me around the lake.
