Woody, Melvin, and I went below OH today, looking for bluegills. Found some but they weren't in a biting mood.
We had to coax them slowly. Caught about 70 and then switched to sauger with minnows and jigs.
Woody caught the first one on a nightcrawler and I caught the Second on the minnow/jig.
Melvin added a fat largemouth bass and a nice catfish.
We had a very enjoyable day on the water and Woody and Melvin had their very first "lockthru" experience.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180126/efe63ba41415bc9170654207e3498752.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180126/91d8862008281231d42efeed0885a53d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180126/49a3f32cd264162abb27326384bd32c1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180126/4170746251d2e52e314b5928908942d6.jpg

Another good report Merv. I may have to go down there again this weekend. I have never been through the lock; always put in on the tail water ramp. Have you tried JPP lately? Wondering if the kill is still killing the fishing out there.

From what I'm told, it's still Death Valley for hybrids and stripers.
Guys are catching some crappie if you know the areas to key on.I can't comment on here where those areas are, don't want to jeopardize my buddies fishing holes.
I'll be out on the lake Saturday and hope to have some good news by Sunday.
