Everytime I've been there I've seen catfishermen around the dam either bottom fishing or using slip floats, heard storts about some good blue cats caught at night in the summer.

From twra
Bluegill can be taken on worms and crickets. Look for bluegill beds in shallow water. Catfish can be taken on worms and liver in May through November. Crappie are usually found close to the bank during late April and early May spawning time. Try bass fishing early and late during warm weather near any type of cover.

Yes this is correct. Catfish are naturally nocturnal, especially the big ones. Not saying they can't be caught during the day but your chances go way up at night. I've caught some nice cats out of Marrowbone. Caught a 20 lb channel cat there and a blue or 2 in the 20 lb + range. Its really stacked with eating size catfish and you can easily put together a nice stringer... Little guys like nightcrawlers or liver. The bigs like cut bait or live bream.. Skipjack is always my preferred cut bait for big cats. I absolutely love fishing Marrowbone lake, its clean, lots of fish and no yahoos in speed boats a jet skis waking you every 5 minutes.

Like most of the TWRA managed lakes it has a good population of quality bluegill as well. I always liked it when I was living close to Nashville. Its not far out of town, but you feel like you are way out in the country when there.

I have used chicken liver bank fishing behind the store and caught several with my boys. Nothing huge but kept the boys interested.
