We had a great late winter/early spring this year. Drifting live bait did the trick. Most fish until a week ago or so were coming from 20 to 30 ft deep while males were in 5 to 20 FOW. Tight Lines. Dave

Thanks Dave,
Nice bunch of smiling faces with some big smallies. Saw you up there a few weeks ago hard at it. Heard the walleye are chasing stick baits along the shoreline at night, the crappie are active, and the bass are moving to their beds. I'll be booking a trip with you this summer to cash in on some of those jumbo wallies.:)

I was at DH last Thursday. To say the bass are spawning is almost an understatement. They were everywhere but very spooky. These were all largemouth though. Fishfindergeneral, I am new to sight fishing. What type of bank am I looking for to find spawning smallmouth? Should I be looking on the main lake or creeks? Water depth? Any info would be appreciated. Nice catches btw. What's your biggest smally up there?

Right on all counts. I'll forward to having you.

They are in both the creeks and main lake. On points and flats with grass. They are down deeper than largemouth so they might be more difficult to sight fish.
My PB came in right at 8 lbs.
